Where Does the Tour Start?
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Santa Teresa at the scheduled time, or you can meet us at the town's Main Square (Plaza de Armas).
From there, we'll drive approximately 40 minutes to the beautiful Yanatile Valley, one of the most important coffee-growing regions in the Cusco area.
Visit a Specialty Coffee Farm
Yanatile sits at around 2,000 meters (6,560 feet) above sea level, offering the perfect conditions for producing exceptional specialty coffee.
As we travel through the valley, you'll see coffee farms stretching across the mountainsides before arriving at a local family-owned farm.
Here, you'll learn about the cultivation of renowned coffee varieties such as Geisha, Bourbon, and Typica. Local producers will explain the sustainable farming practices they use to improve quality year after year, as well as the innovations that help them achieve higher cupping scores and compete in specialty coffee markets.
Depending on the season, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Taste ripe coffee cherries directly from the tree.
- Observe the harvesting process.
- Learn about fermentation, washing, and drying techniques.
- Understand how processing methods influence flavor and quality.
To finish the farm experience, we'll roast coffee using traditional methods and enjoy a freshly brewed cup made from locally grown beans.




Coffee Lab & Cupping Experience
After visiting the farm, we'll continue to the Wild Coffee Peru laboratory for a deeper dive into the world of specialty coffee.
In a more controlled setting, our coffee professionals will guide you through the bean selection and grading process before demonstrating coffee roasting using specialized equipment.
Next, we'll prepare a cupping table featuring different coffee varieties and flavor profiles. You'll learn how coffee professionals evaluate aroma, acidity, sweetness, body, and aftertaste while comparing coffees from different farms and processing methods.
This hands-on cupping experience is perfect for coffee lovers, beginners, and anyone interested in understanding what makes specialty coffee unique.
